Training to meet your needs
Paws Canine Academy dog training is here to meet your needs. Our training is registered as One-on-One, and we provide sessions for established groups that want to train together.
Each session is an hour long and we come to your house or venue of choice for training.
We provide training to dogs of all ages, breeds, and behaviors.
Our classes are held primarily in Southwest Michigan.
For training in other locations, please contact us for availability.
Program Details
Obedience
A dog with a good foundation of obedience allows your dog's life to be more enjoyable and less stressful. Our obedience foundation is built on ensuring your dog understands:
Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Heel, Proper Walking, and Focused Placement.
We also work on other behavioral issues you may have with your dog.
Nose work
After your dog has good foundation of obedience we can train your dog in nose work.
Nose work is the detection of certain odors (AKC nose work requirements, diabetic alerts, tracking humans, wounded game, antler shed hunting)
Diabetic Alert Training will require evaluation to ensure dogs have the correct mentality.
We can train flushing breeds to hunt for water fowl and upland birds. Training includes whistle command, tracking, and retrieving game.
AKC
Paws Canine Academy is a certified AKC CGC evaluator.
As an AKC CGC evaluator we can administer the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy program, CGC, AKC Community Canine (the advanced level of CGC), Urban CGC, Video home manner and trick dog tests.
